Sustainable Saturday: DIY Deodorant

A sustainable, natural, and money saving choice you can make to to make your own deodorant! It’s super easy to make and works great! I use it every day and love it. It smells wonderful, goes on clear, and there isn’t any residue on my clothes. Give it a try!

Ingredients:

10-15 drops essential oil (you choice of scents)

1/4 cup baking soda

1/4 cup cornstarch

1/2 cup coconut oil

Directions:

1. Mix together the baking soda and cornstarch with a whisk or fork.

2. Add the essential oils and coconut oil. Make sure the coconut oil is at room temperature. I made the mistake of using the coconut oil I stored in my cold basement, so I had to heat up up first.

3. Use a spoon (or even your hands) to mix all the ingredients together until everything is very well combined.

4. Store in an airtight container. Make sure you tighten the lid well after each use so it doesn’t dry out.
